Clouds and Skywatch

These pictures were clicked in Kodaikanal when i went there for a small trekking trip. The first day when i reached Kodaikanal it was 4pm in the afternoon and all that I could see from my hostel were these clouds covering the mountains I wondered what the landscape looked like! It was only in the morning next day (last photo) that i got my first glimpse of the mountains. The wait was worth it I must add.

My first glimpse of the landscape

Note: These photos were clicked from my cellphone camera and hence are not of the best quality that i normally post.

Skywatch Scotland #4

This will be my last post on Skywatch Scotland - Edinburgh series. It's been sure a pleasure to share these memories with everyone and I've decided one day surely I would revisit Scotland once again.

That's the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh

Long-shot view of the parliament building from a nearby hill

If you notice carefully this tower of pillars at Calton Hill is the same which appears in the background in the picture above

Love the architecture

In Edinburgh there are a lot of horror tours on offer which takes you though such cemeteries and underground tunnels, some of them are quite spooky

I like those bright red color painted buildings

R.I.P

This is Boggi one of my beloved street dogs whom we have fed and occasionally given shelter for over a decade. She passed away last week. She was hit by a car.

Her passing away not only makes me very sad but also brings me to think about the philosophical question of Life & Death. I've always believed to live Life to the fullest you need to understand the meaning of Life but now i know, to understand life you also need to withstand Death.

Life is very uncertain and once you are dead all that is left are memories like these.

Vintage Cars & People

Cars have always been a fascination with humans since the day they were first produced and the same fascination goes up by gigantic proportions when it comes to Vintage Cars. People don't mind spending millions to have them as a part of their collection. Economist say the health of an economy can be judged by the number of cars it sells. As for me I have never had any fascination for cars and hence never owned one.

These pics were clicked on a typical cold wintry afternoon in New Delhi, More than the Cars what I liked was to see people's reaction to them.

Flower or Fruit ?

My today's post is more of a query.

Firstly I have to admit that for a good part of my life its been my beloved trek partner who has always answered any query related to flowers and their botanical names but since she is not available to answer my query this time I thought let me put up a post and share these pics.

During the past few weeks while cycling i came across this flower, fruit or whatever this is. I was fortunate enough to capture its various stages of growth and I look forward to someone answering my query on what exactly is this?

Stage 1 on day 1

Stage 1 on day 2

Stage 3 on day 4

Stage 4 on day 6

Stage 5 on day 8

Stage 6 on day 11 (where it looks like a normal flower)

Stage 1, 3 and 5 on one branch itself

Land of the Gods

India is surely land of the Gods, Some say the number varies from 33000 to over 330 million! While I leave you to debate on that I'd like to share a few pics clicked on my last trip to Haridwar & Rishikesh.
